David McDonald originates from the northeastern part of Lowa. He is a graduate of Lowa State University where he attained an undergraduate degree in animal science. After graduating, his career started where he began working in Chicago for OSI Industries which is an international company for specializing in food processing. His work full of professionalism saw him rise all the way to the position of the Presidency as well as the Chief Operating Officer of the company. He is also the Chairman of a meat institute in Northern America. Among the board of directors in charge of OSI group, David McDonald is a member. To OSI Industries he serves as both Director and a Project Manager. McDonald is also an Independent Director of a Global foods company known as Marfrig.
He is focused on using every available resource to transform the State of lowa. He has actively taken part in Agricultural investments, and he had several learners visiting China to learn from the facilities of OSI. The company now employs some of these students.
It’s through David McDonald’s extemporary leadership that OSI Industries have grown and their services are now available in Hungary and Geneva. He has overseen the establishment of facilities meant to process poultry in China, and it will be the largest in the country. Through his leadership, the company has been able to establish processing plants for beef and frozen foods in Poland and India respectively. Acquisitions such as Baho Food acquisition is another means the company is using to expand its market.
Baho Foods is a company that manufactures snacks, convenience foods, and deli meats. When OSI acquired the company, David McDonald said that the strength of OPI Group is likely to shoot in Europe since Baho Foods originates from Dutch. He termed this acquisition as a step that will enable the firm to satisfy their clients.
In the year 2016, OSI Group acquired Flagship Europe which is a well-founded supplier of foodservice, which was owned by Flagship Food Group. The products offered by the flagship are; sous vide items, frozen poultry, sausages, pies, and dressings. About the Flagship, David McDonald said that this gives OSI an expanded atmosphere in Europe and this increases the opportunities for the company to reach and serve their clients better.
Under the leadership of David McDonald, OSI Group brought a facility for processing food and served as a warehouse for storage as well, in Chicago. Tyson Foods managed this facility. This enhances expansion of business by OSI.
